Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra literally translates as Yoga of Sleep.
It is an ancient sleep-based meditation that uses a unique combination of breathing, awareness, mindful and relaxation techniques. Through the practice of Yoga Nidra we learn to relax as deeply as in sleep while awake. Yoga Nidra takes you to the alpha and theta brain wave states of consciousness. In this deep states, we connect to our own intuition, creativity, health and abundance.
Yoga Nidra is much more than a relaxation exercise, it is a place, a space where we enter through the techniques we use. Yoga Nidra optimizes physical restoration and interrupt the process by which we engage in stressful thoughts. The result is a highly regenerative state where the energy normally burned by the mind is fully freed to heal and restore the body.
For centuries Yoga Nidra has been used to improve sleep quality and relieve stress; ease anxiety and depression; recover from trauma and addiction; reduce inflammation in the body; release incomplete and unprocessed emotions and experiences that come but never left.
What can you expect in class
Yoga Nidra is for everybody and you cannot do it wrong! The worst thing that can happen is that you fall asleep, and if this would be the case, you’ll get the benefits anyway!
