DHARMA YOGA

ABOUT DHARMA YOGA

Dharma Yoga is a graceful, yet challenging form of yoga based on Sri Dharma Mittra’s almost fifty years of practice of classical yoga. The practice is appropriate for students of all levels, from beginner to lifelong practitioners and accessible to so many because it meets each student where they are and according to their condition.

Dharma Yoga Sequences were created by Sri Dharma Mittra in 1975. The physical posture practice (Asana) tones and invigorates the body and mind, leading to enhanced flexibility, strength, balance and concentration.

In Dharma yoga, practitioners are encouraged to go deeper and experience the practice in a meditative and spiritual way.

Sri Dharma Mittra is a yoga master who has dedicated his life to the karma yoga or selfless service of sharing the accumulated wisdom gained through constant practice and teaching over a half-century at his school in New York and around the world. Since 1967, he has been teaching classical yoga: advanced postures, Yama and Niyama, and how to lead a content, simple and happy life.

Maayan Shenhar is the founder of SIRA YOGA, she has studied with Sri Dharma in Manhattan, and teaches Dharma yoga classes at SIRA.
